The Muse comes through again

Finally, a painting for my mother. I'll leave it up for a few days in case any fixes or tweaks feel like reaching out and grabbing me when I walk past it, but it is done and I am pleased with it overall.

A quickie snapshot taken under completely unprofessional conditions:

And just in the nick of time, too, because the Muse has begun making noises about spending more time on Crowmaker again.

I am super pleased with how well it turned out. Consistent quality of work is not something I've figured out yet where artwork is concerned.

Funny story: My "art room" is in the basement, right next to the boys' computer/gaming room, and my easel is kinda in the middle of the floor facing the door. Joey was pacing around trying to figure something out for homework the other night and all of the sudden he noticed "some weird glowing things kinda floating in the (dark) art room." So he had to go turn on the light and assure himself it was not a ghost.

Apparently, bright yellow pastel-painted sunflowers glow in the dark. >.>

Ha!

It may have some of that stuff in it that absorbs light and then glows softly for a while.

And as far as consistent work - if you need practice, I have a lot of blank walls in my apartment. ;)
